Thioguard® Magnesium Hydroxide Slurry for Wastewater Treatment
Reduces Corrosion and Odor in Sewer Systems

The primary cause of odor and corrosion in sewer systems is due to sulfur compounds – with hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas causing odor and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) causing corrosion and sewer collapse.
Thioguard® is a concentrated, stabilized, reactive magnesium hydroxide aqueous suspension with excellent flow and storage properties. Non-hazardous by DOT standards, Thioguard can eliminate odors caused by H2S gas by preventing the formation of hydrogen sulfide gas. The product can be added directly to your sewer system.
| Benefit | Advantage |
| Non-hazardous by DOT | Thioguard will not harm your system and is safe to handle. Can be added directly to systems. |
| Cost-effective | Approximately100 gallons of Thioguard per million gallons of sewage is required to raise and hold pH in the range of 8 to 8.5. |
| Double action additive | Thioguard treats both odor and corrosion. |
| Effectively controls pH | Thioguard gently raises pH without overshooting. Overdosing simply adds alkalinity. |
| Improves effluent | Lowers Total Suspended Solids (TSS) Reduces Sludge Volume Index (SVI) Lowers Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5) |
