MagChem® 20 SC and MagChem® 50 SC magnesium oxides (MgO) are used in the manufacture of silicon grain-oriented electrical steel (SGOES). MagChem® 20 SC and MagChem® 50 SC react with the silicon steel to form a forsterite glass-like film during the high temperature anneal process, which acts as an electrical insulator between core laminations in the transformer core.
