Magnesium Oxide as a Viscosity Modifier in Glass Formulations

Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties MagChem®10–325 is used in the production of glass fibers as a viscosity modifier to keep the viscosity of the glass melt within the desired range for proper formation of the filaments. MagChem®10-325 has a fine uniform size to readily melt with the other glass chemicals. It is free from coarse particles to prevent clogging of the spinnerets and breakage of the filaments, thereby reducing downtime. MagChem®10-325 is over 98% pure which prevents off-coloration and other problems.
